This is one of those leukemia-related things … we got another call yesterday. Beth’s hemoglobin level is again below 8.5, and someone asked her to come in today for another transfusion. It’s in a room with lots of reclining chairs, and there are lots of people “hooked up”. The problem is that she’s also been fighting an intestinal thing this morning. How do you know how long that lasts? You don’t want to be hooked up to an IV blood line and have to run to the toilet quickly.

A decision has been made to put off the transfusion until Monday.
